STM finds the whimsical carousels of Paris absolutely charming and what better time of year to treat your children to endless rides than now, when joyrides are FREE!!!! That’s right, each year during the Christmas holidays, the “Maneges” of Paris are free to all children, who can ride all day if they like! Throughout Paris, there are 18 free carousels in the 3rd to 20th arrondissements.
The photo here is of one of our favorites merry-go-rounds, located in front of Hotel de Ville 75004. Look for carousels at the popular Place St. Sulpice in the 6th, Place Madeleine in the 8th and right at Trocadero in the 16th, which makes for a great stop when visiting the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero Christmas markets.
Free rides begin this year on December 21st and continue through January 5, 2014. The carousels are open 10:00-19:00 daily.
