You’ve been invited to a theme party in Paris or you’ve always dreamed of being photographed in a Napoleonic “getup” on Place de la Concorde …now, who are you going to call?! Sommier’s!!
Sumptuous costumes abound in this treasure trove of disguises, tucked away in Paris’ 10th arrondissement. A third generation, family owned business, Sommier’s has been outfitting for the stage and special events since 1922! From medieval to hippies, prehistoric to disco or Renaissance and everything in between, they will have you dressed up and playing the part in style!!! As costumers for the many theatres in the area, their selection is excellent quality with attention to era detail.
Recently, Sole Traveling Mama spent a full two hours at Sommier’s getting outfitted for the Versailles Masked Ball in June. With the utmost patience and enthisiasm, the costume specialist helped her choose the absolute perfect look, right down to the wig, purse and mask. And what a selection!! She must have tried on a dozen Marie Antoinette wigs and two dozen masks, plain, to bedazzled to plumed. Worried about sizing? Don’t be! The costumes are designed with all kinds of lacings and elastics to fit a wide range of shapes.
Conveniently open weekdays from 10:00-19:00 and Saturday 10:00-18:00 (closed Sundays), Sommier is located on Metro Line 4, stop Chateau d’Eau, and an easy 3 minute walk from there at 3 Passage Brady 75010.
